Duhacsek Park Community Center, Houston

Duhacsek Park Community Center officially opened in May 2009. The 50-acre park is located at 17034 Richmond Road in Fort Bend County, Texas. It is ideal for field trips, retreats, day camps, and company picnics.

The land on which the park sits was donated to the city by Walter and Virginia Duhacsek, long-time residents of Sugar Land. They also gave out their home on the land to be used for group events such as weddings and family reunions. The home features a fully-equipped kitchen and a couple of rooms for small gatherings.

Besides the house, Duhacsek Park Community Center also boasts an expansive space with lush-green hand-grafted pecan trees. It also has a large picnic pavilion with tables and restrooms. The pavilion also features barbecue grills for those who want to prepare their own hot meals on-site.

Visitors don’t have to worry about parking space; there is enough space for about 60 vehicles. Moreover, Duhacsek Park Community Center offers basketball and baseball facilities as well as a quarter-acre pond.

It is worth noting that visitors can access the park only through reservations for groups of up to 40 people. The following conditions must be met to make a reservation:

  • Applicants must be aged at least 21 years
  • One must provide a Valid Texas driver’s license and Sugar Land city water bill as proof of residency to receive resident rental rates.
  • The individual signing the application has to handle all transactions, changes, and inquiries
